Maternity and Newborn Photography

The arrival of a new member is an incredibly huge moment for any family…you’ve jumped on board a massive rollercoaster and there’s no looking back! Taking time to fix your memories of this time in frames is a gift, not just to future you, but also to your kids in years to come..for them to see just how smitten you were and how life looked just before and after they made their big entrance is so so special.

Click below to find out how I can help you capture this magic time with my at-home maternity and newborn photoshoots.

How It Works

WHY?

One of the biggest moments in the lives of any family has to be the arrival of a new member!

Everyone knows how significant it is, but it’s so easy for it all to pass you by in a crazy flurry of midwife appointments, nappy changes, baby feeding and sleepless nights.

Making time to fix your memories of this time in frames is a gift, not just to future you, but also to your kids in years to come.

Maternity and newborn photoshoots that take place at home give them a glimpse of how life looked just before and after they made their big entrance!

HOW? - Maternity photoshoot

I will come to your home where we will spend an hour or so capturing you and your lovely bump. I don’t use backdrops or lights so our time together will all feel very laidback and relaxed.

I can give you some guidance on posing and which clothes will show your bump off best if you would like a little help.

We can pop out to a local place special to you for a few more pictures if you would like some photos outside (and it isn’t raining!) but we can also stay home if you feel more comfortable there.

HOW? - Newborn photoshoot

These shoots always take place at home so baby can keep nice and cosy.

Again, I don’t use lights, backdrops or props; I love photographing newborns surrounded by all the things that make their first house a home… wrapped in a special blanket knitted by Grandma, cuddling up in mum’s arms or fast asleep on dad’s shoulder.

HOW? - After the shoot

Within three weeks of our shoot, I will share a password protected webgallery and a slide show of images with you. There are usually at least thirty images.

The gallery is available for seven days, in which time you can view and choose which of my collections you would like to order.

Collections include options for digital files or prints and albums to make sure you get these special memories off the computer and up on the wall or in an album.

When you’ve made your selection, orders and payments can all be made securely online.

HOW MUCH?

Midweek shoots start from £70.

Weekend shoots start from £120.

This includes your photo shoot fee, editing and presentation of images in a private web gallery, available to view for 7 days.

Please note:

The shoot fee does not include any digital images or prints.

After viewing your images, select one of the collections I offer which start at £150. There are lots of options for digital images, professional quality prints and albums.

Please get in touch for my brochure which includes my prices or drop me a message for help figuring out which collection suits you best.

You’d love a beautiful, handmade album of your photos? Absolutely! I love them too, and I am super excited when I get to create them.

WHEN?

Weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons. Whatever works best for you and your family.

Maternity shoots are usually best done between 33 and 36 weeks of pregnancy when your bump is bumpy(!) but you can still move around quite easily.

Newborn shoots are best done within baby’s first month.

As babies work off their own (highly secretive!) diary, all dates booked for newborn photoshoots are totally provisional.

I advise booking a date with me for your photoshoot 2-3 weeks after your due day and then just keeping in touch to let me know if baby makes an appearance early or is fashionably late!

I’m super flexible and will always shuffle things round to make sure you get your newborn pictures in baby’s first month.

If you have a c-section scheduled we can book a shoot for 2 weeks afterwards but again, I can be flexible as things often take a slightly unexpected course with babies.

WHERE?

Maternity shoots almost always start at your home so you are super relaxed and then we can pop out to somewhere local if you would like some outside photos.

Newborn shoots always take place at home so baby can keep nice and cosy.

NOW WHAT?

Get in touch for a brochure. Here, I explain more about how a shoot works and pricing options for beautiful prints to fill your walls, albums to cherish through the generations, or digital files for you to print again and again for grannies, grandads, aunties, uncles, friends… you get the idea!

You made the kids feel so comfortable and us too. It was fun! It didn’t feel posed and the chat throughout kind of made us forget we were doing a photo shoot.
