Sale Nomads production of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’
As a long established part of the Sale community, I was very excited to be invited to come along to photograph a performance of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ by Sale Nomads amateur theatre club at the Waterside Arts Centre last month.
For many years, the Nomads have been the team behind the ‘Sale Panto’ performed each January at the Waterside Arts Centre and as they themselves say ‘generations of families have been coming to boo, hiss and cheer at all the colourful characters’.
Made up entirely of volunteers the huge group of people of all ages involved in Nomads really put their heart and soul into these productions, not to mention hours and hours of their free time! It was wonderful to tag along for a couple of hours to the final dress rehearsal to get a glimpse into just how professional these amateurs actually are! A tight knit, hard-working family that give their all on stage and off, all paying off with a fantastic production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Oh yes it was!
After photographing the rehearsal I came back as an audience member with my daughter and we both had so much fun loving the singing, dancing and loads of laughs. It was ‘the best night of her life’ according to my 7 year old daughter who practically skipped home after being up on stage with a gang of other excited kids and getting the chance to grab photos with some of the cast.
