5 Ideas for Mothers Day gifts that support local businesses but won’t clutter up the house.

Mothers Day always seems to roll around so soon after Christmas when all your already limited gift ideas have been well and truly pilfered. It is so hard to come up with thoughtful gift ideas that will be well received and not end up cluttering up the mum in your life’s house, ultimately gathering dust.

I always think ‘something to do’ rather than ‘something to have’ is the way to go and can create great opportunities to spend some special time together. If you can support some small local businesses in the process then even better! Here are a few ideas for Mothers Day gifts that support some of the brilliant small businesses of Sale and won’t clutter up the home.

1. Alternative Flowers

Flowers are always a winner and who doesn’t love receiving them? For something a bit different this year though why not gift your mum or partner a voucher for a spring wreath making session with Sale artisan florists Diddibox.

Diddibox always have the most gorgeous flowers and at this workshop your mum or partner will be walked through all the steps to go home with her own beautiful spring wreath to hang on their front door. Plus tons of pride at having made it herself, even if the most flower arranging she’s done in the past is chucking some daffs in a glass!

The workshop takes place on Thursday 17th March at Sale Rugby club, from 7-9pm.

Book online here (even better get yourself booked in too so you can go along and make a night of it together); Diddibox Spring wreath masterclass

2. Get Crafty with an Adult Craft Workshop

Sale based ‘Love to Craft’ offer adult craft workshops that are loads of fun. Greta is fantastic at making the processes super easy so that even the most craft phobic can go home with some beautiful handiwork to show off.

An evening at one of her adult craft sessions is a really lovely way to get together with friends (or your mum!) too. Love to Craft offer a few different adult workshops that you can check out here and book via the website: Love to Craft Workshops

3. Take her out for dinner

Take the mum in your life out for the night at Sale’s best pizzeria. There’s always a great, fun atmosphere in Mano and the pizzas are so so good. They also do plenty of other dishes for non pizza lovers too. You’ll get plenty out of this gift  🙂 Book a table online through the Mano a Bocca website.

4. Stretch!

Maybe your mum or partner is already a Pilates expert or you reckon they’d love to have a bash at something new, either way Liz of Sale’s ‘LH Pilates’ offers really supportive and fun classes for all levels both online and in person that would make a perfect Mothers day gift. Get in touch with Liz to book via the LH Pilates Facebook or Instagram pages.

5. Family Photo Shoot Voucher

Well I know I have to say it but family photos really do make a super special and meaningful gift that will last a lifetime.
I offer gift vouchers to help get that mum in your life in the frame with her family where she should be..not hidden taking all the snaps!
Printed gift vouchers can be ordered so you have something lovely to hand over on Mothers day or if you are sorting a present at the last minute and are short on time, gift vouchers can be emailed so you don’t miss the big day.
Pop to my main site to download a family brochure and get in touch via email to order a gift voucher for that mum in your life: hello@sonyasmithphoto.com

Sonya put us at ease during the photoshoot and captured us looking so natural and relaxed. The photos far exceeded our expectations and I get emotional everytime I look at them! Sonya’s photos so beautifully capture our two year old girl and our lovely family moments. We will cherish them forever.
